Staff Accountant

Position description:

American Guardian Warranty Services, Inc. (AGWS), an affiliate of Reynolds and Reynolds, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in developing and optimizing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and providing essential financial data and analysis. This individual will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, executing routine accounting tasks, and facilitating efficient data entry and journal entry posting in the general ledger system.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in the month-end close process to deliver accurate and timely data, reconciliations, and analysis
-Lead various banking activities such as bank reconciliation, cash receipt/deposit processing, payable transactions, and cash reporting
-Apply expertise in accounting principles to execute journal entries and maintain the general ledger
-Support internal and external audit processes, prepare federal and state filings, and collaborate with accounting team and other business units
-Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned to contribute to team goals and organizational success

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and related software
• Strong understanding of GAAP and mathematical concepts
• Experience in the warranty and/or insurance industry is a plus, though not mandatory
