TSD is seeking an experienced Director of Architecture & Enabling Services to lead enterprise architecture, application security, quality engineering, automation, and AI strategy across the organization. This leader will oversee a multidisciplinary team of architects, developers, automation engineers, and QA professionals while establishing the standards, platforms, and engineering practices that enable product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions at scale.
Key Areas of Ownership:
Application Architecture
-Define target-state architecture and engineering standards, including service design, APIs, event-driven patterns, shared components, and modernization initiatives.
-Guide architectural governance and technology decisions across product teams.
-Drive adoption of scalable, maintainable, and reusable platform capabilities.
Data Architecture
-Lead enterprise data strategy, including data models, master data, ETL/ELT, data quality, governance, retention, and supporting data platforms.
-Establish standards for enterprise analytics, reporting, and data management.
Automation
-Own enterprise automation strategy across test automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, environment provisioning, and release processes.
-Drive productivity and quality improvements through automation and platform engineering.
Application Security
-Lead the secure SDLC, including threat modeling, secure coding, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and compliance in partnership with Information Security.
-Establish security practices that enable teams to deliver software safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
People Leadership
-Build, lead, and retain high-performing architecture, software development, automation, and QA teams.
-Oversee workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and employee relations.
-Drive goal setting, feedback, performance reviews, and career development.
-Develop technical and leadership talent through coaching, succession planning, and continuous learning.
Process Management
-Own the SDLC, including Agile planning, delivery, release management, and change control.
-Define and track engineering metrics to drive continuous improvement in delivery, quality, reliability, and automation.
-Establish standards for CI/CD, code quality, secure development, and testing practices.
-Advance automation and manage technical debt through a prioritized improvement roadmap.
Software Delivery
-Deliver high-quality software releases on time, within budget, and aligned with business commitments.
-Own release readiness, including testing, performance validation, security reviews, and deployment planning.
-Partner with Product Management on roadmap execution, prioritization, and stakeholder communications.
-Manage cross-team dependencies and continuously reduce delivery risk through automation and incremental delivery.
Artificial Intelligence Adoption
-Drive engineering productivity through AI-assisted development, testing, code review, documentation, and defect management.
-Lead the delivery of AI-enabled capabilities, including intelligent search, automation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and conversational experiences.
-Establish governance and evaluation frameworks for AI accuracy, performance, cost, and risk.
Production Support & Escalation Management
-Own production operations, on-call programs, escalation processes, and support coverage.
-Serve as the senior escalation point for critical incidents, leading response, communications, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
-Improve observability, reliability, and operational efficiency through automation and continuous improvement.
Technology Environment:
-.NET/C# and ASP.NET Core microservices, shared libraries, API gateways, multi-tenancy, and REST/event-driven integrations.
-SQL Server and Redis for data modeling, performance tuning, high availability, caching, and distributed services.
-React micro-front-end architecture, shared design systems, and Flutter-based cross-platform solutions.
-Apache Iceberg, Metabase, Power BI, data lakehouse architectures, and modern ETL/ELT platforms.
-AWS cloud services, including containerized and serverless platforms, infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, automated testing, and observability tooling.
12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading architecture, development, test automation, and QA organizations.; Prior Director-level or equivalent second-line leadership experience.; Proven success leading large-scale, customer-facing production systems with demanding availability, performance, and data integrity requirements.; Experience building, developing, and managing engineering teams through the full employee lifecycle.; Strong technical leadership across enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, quality engineering, security, automation, data platforms, and modern software delivery practices.; Experience adopting AI-enabled engineering practices and delivering AI-powered capabilities.; Excellent analytical, problem-solving, systems-thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.; Deep expertise with Apache Iceberg, Metabase, .NET, SQL Server, React, AWS cloud platforms, and shared services architectures preferred.; Experience with Flutter, Redis, Power BI, and modern Lakehouse/Data Warehouse platforms preferred.; Experience leading enterprise modernization, platform engineering, or cloud transformation initiatives preferred.; Automotive, mobility, fleet, or rental industry experience preferred.
